A little re-visit to the copyright issue. It appears there are some people out there who think that if an image is uploaded at a larger size and/or higher resolution and it is illegally downloaded and used in someone else's images, that the thief shouldn't be reprimanded...because hey, you shouldn't upload your images that big! Um, no.
The ONLY time it is EVER ok to download someone else's work is if you were given permission by the artist of that work or they state on the image/website that the image is free for public use. THAT'S IT. There is no way around that...copyright law states it. Even if the image is available for download via the download button and there is no copyright information stated, the only way that image can be used in any other works or for anything commercial and/or public is if the artist says it can be.
One should not assume that because it's available for download that one can use it however they want. It could be available for reference purposes. Or maybe for personal use as a desktop wallpaper. Or maybe it was just left available by accident. No matter the reason, one cannot assume that an available download, no copyright information, and/or a large file size means it's ok to use. IT'S NOT. Works are copyrighted to the artist the moment they are created. And if you assume that, and take the work without permission, it is YOU who are the thief, YOU who will be reported, and YOU who can be sued.
There is no such thing as an "innocent" art thief. If you take what isn't yours without permission, you are a thief. It seems this thinking that the artist is responsible for some of the thievery is contributing to the reason there is so much theft. The artist is not responsible for what YOU download, YOU are responsible. So if you don't have the artist's permission and/or the image does not state that it is open source material, then you cannot download it and use it for anything commercial or public.

I offer commissioned and commercial licensed 3D digital art pieces for a fair price. This includes printable artwork, book/CD covers, ect. Please read all of the information below before contacting me.
When you request a commissioned piece, please remember you will be receiving a custom piece of artwork. Be sure you have the funds to pay me via PayPal before you request a piece. If you are under 18 and do not have your own PayPal account, please be sure to get permission from the person whose account you will be using.
When requesting a commission, please be as specific and detailed in your description as possible. My idea of what you want may be vastly different than your idea, especially if you don't provide enough for me to work with. If you have sketches or other references of your scene/character, let me know. I will not spend time revising the scene multiple times because my idea isn't an exact replica of your idea. You are hiring me to be creative and create you a piece of artwork because you like my style. Understand that you are giving me the artistic freedom to create that scene for you in my style.
Please also keep in mind, I work with a 3d program using pre-made 3d models. I do not free-hand paint. So I am somewhat limited in what those models can do. I get creative in using the models for specific needs/purposes, but in the end, there is still only so much I can do.
Be aware that if I have to purchase any models to create the scene, the price of the work will go up depending on how much I have to spend out of pocket.
I do not create in all styles, so please be aware of this when making a request. My main genres are fantasy, gothic, steam-punk, horror, sci-fi, and toon. I can also create pin-up (tasteful) and a more modern style, but those are not generally what I do. I do not create specific anime or any sub-genres of anime (as in fan-art; but I can do toon work that can resemble the general anime style). If you're not sure if I can do what you want, please ask.
Basic Pricing Info (all $ is US currency)
1-3 characters, no background or added elements, logo-style image - $35 & up
1 character, simple background, a few added elements (sparkles, fog, ect.) - $50 & up (see 1st image below)
1 character, complex scenery, a few added elements (sparkles, fog, ect.) - $65 & up (see 2nd image)
2 characters, simple background, a few added elements (sparkles, fog, ect.) - $80 & up (see 3rd image)
2 characters, complex scenery, a few added elements (sparkles, fog, ect.) - $100 & up (see 4th image)
For more than 2 characters, please contact me for a quote. Price will also depend on how complex the scenery is. Pricing will start at $125. (see other images)
For 1 character scenes (or anything $65 and under), payment will be due upon completion of the piece. For 2+ character scenes, 50% will need to be put down before I start, with the remaining 50% being paid upon completion.
I will keep you updated in terms of how the scene is coming along and will send watermarked proofs for you to check the progress. I will not revise the scene more than a couple times (2x at most), so be sure to provide specific details up front.
When the scene is completed and paid for, I will send you the final .PNG image file. You are free to do with it what you want, except sell it to make a profit. If you would like to use it on products to make a profit, the work will need to be licensed (see Licensing below). If you wish to have prints/products for personal use, I can upload the image to my deviantART or Zazzle account or you can upload to any number of online printing services or take it into a print shop. Once you have ordered what you want, the print feature needs to be turned off if the image is left up for public viewing.
You can request a licensed piece, either as a commission (commission price + licensing price) or from my portfolio of already-made works. I require an advance payment up front for each piece, and my royalty fee is 6% and up (dependent upon the type of merchandise and the selling market). Advance payment will be deducted from future royalties until paid, then royalties are to be paid. If interested in purchasing licenses for 5 or more pieces, I'll give a 15% bundle discount.

Goodbye 2013, Welcome 2014

As we say goodbye to the old year and welcome in the new, I reflect on the happenings of 2013.
This was THE year for my art to take off. Two of my pieces were shown in a gallery exhibition in Las Vegas. Digital art as canvas prints looks better than you would image...well, better than I imagined, anyway.
Both sold, too. It's an interesting feeling knowing your work is hanging up in someone's house.In other art happenings, I entered a few of my pieces into the American Art Awards and placed 1st and 3rd with a couple of them.
In April I was asked to join a promotions group on Facebook to help promote vendor products. It was fun while it lasted, but all things must eventually come to end...and this one did sooner rather than later. But that's ok, because I believe everything happens for a reason. When the time with one promotions group ended, the time with another began. And so since July, I've been promo'ing with Artistic License Promotions, and for the most part it has been a blast! I love my fellow ladies in the group.
Here's to a fabulous next year!In other events, in June my hubby and I rode his motorcycle to Fort Bragg. That was a really fun trip, until we got a phone call from our oldest son that his dog had passed on and our other dog was missing. We ended our trip a day early and rushed home. We did find our other dog hiding on the back porch. It took a week or so to nurse her back to health, but now she's completely back to her old self.
And sometimes out of tragedy comes new beginnings. We are now the proud parents of two cute malamute, great pyrenees, wolf mix puppies.
So we've had our share of ups and downs this past year (including hubby being out of work due to a knee injury...hence, less fundage for 3D products for my art), but all in all, it's been a good year. Here's to a year that's even better and maybe have a little less tragedy and drama.
Thanks to all of my fans who comment and/or fav my work. You are all very much appreciated! Hoping for a fabulous year for you as well!

Remember when I wrote about entering the American Art Awards? Well, I did better this year than last. I submitted four entries. Of those, two placed...get this...1st and 3rd in the digital category!
I also submitted an entry to the 12" of Sin exhibition, but haven't heard anything yet.
The promo group I'm a member and admin of, Artistic License Promotions, is doing well, although we're working through a state of change. Even so, we are still working to bring the best in artwork and digital products to our viewers. Be sure to "like" our Facebook page! We're upwards of 500 "likes" and we have plans for contests and give-aways!

Artistic License Promotions - follow us!
A new 3D digital promotions group has been started...both here and on Facebook.
We are a group of artists and 3D content vendors working together to make great art using fabulous products, while also bringing more awareness of said products to other 3D artists. We, the artists, showcase just what can be done with some of the great products that are out there in the 3D content world.

It's been a month and a half since I announced a print give-away when my Facebook page hit 500 Likes. And now, that goal has been met...and even somewhat exceeded. As of this blog, RavenMoon Designs has 506 Likes! Way to go! Thanks to everyone who shared the give-away image and liked my page. For an artist to be known, that artist's work has to be seen, and so many have helped with that. My heartfelt thanks goes out to you all.
Coming soon, I will have another print give-away. The goal is to get to 750 Likes. I'll be formally announcing this and which prints will be up for grabs in the weeks to come. So stay tuned. :)
